Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about vetting, payment protection, and how sessions work.

Is AutiPath for us?

Which families can use AutiPath?
Families in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia, for children aged 2 to under 15 with an autism diagnosis (or awaiting one).
What kinds of therapy are available?
Speech Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, ABA (Behaviour Therapy) and Parent Coaching — all delivered online by specialists practising in India.
How do I contact AutiPath?
Before you have an account, email contact@autipath.com — that is also the address for questions about our terms or about your family's data. Once you have an account, email support@autipath.com about a booking, a payment, a session or your account. AutiPath does not relay messages to therapists: you arrange, change or cancel a session from your sessions page, and apart from your name and your child's first name, the only things you write that your therapist can read are the reason you give when you cancel, the comment you leave when you approve their session notes, and any review you leave, once we publish it. A concern about a session goes through Help & complaints.

Choosing a therapist

How are AutiPath therapists vetted?
Every therapist passes a structured vetting process — including registration or certification checks with the issuing board (RCI, AIOTA, BACB or QABA) — and a blind review by our clinical panel, scored across qualifications, autism experience, communication, and presence. Only approved therapists appear on the platform.

Sessions

Are parents present during sessions?
Yes. Sessions are designed around parent/guardian presence, and every session record includes a mandatory confirmation of whether a parent or guardian was present — it is the platform's core safeguarding control.
Does AutiPath watch or record sessions?
No. Sessions happen on the therapist's video link (such as Google Meet or Zoom), and we don't monitor or record them — your family's sessions stay private. This is exactly why the parent-presence rule exists: the adult supervising every session is you. After each session, the therapist submits notes, and nothing is paid out until you've had the chance to review and approve.
Is AutiPath responsible for what happens in a session?
Sessions are delivered by independent therapists, not by AutiPath, so the therapist is responsible for how they conduct each session — just as with any independent professional you might engage. Our role is to make that engagement as safe and informed as possible: we verify every therapist's credentials before they join, assign them ongoing clinical supervision on the platform, require a parent to be present and on camera for the whole of every session, and hold your payment in escrow until you approve the session (or, if you take no action, until it releases automatically after 14 days). If anything ever concerns you, reject the session with your reason and our team reviews it directly — and if you ever believe a child is at risk, end the session and contact your local emergency services first, then report it to us.

Money

Is the first consultation really free?
Yes. Your first consultation with any therapist is free, once per therapist: 30 minutes online, with you in the room. Meet them, ask questions, and see whether they are right for your child before paying anything. After it, your therapist may suggest sessions; whether and when to book is your choice.
How is my payment protected?
For paid sessions your money is held by the platform — not paid to the therapist — until you approve the session. If you take no action, funds release automatically after 14 days. If something went wrong, you can reject the session and a human reviews the dispute before any money moves.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel a paid session with 24 hours' notice or more (measured to the session start, inclusive) for a full refund. There is also a dedicated "my child isn't ready today" cancellation option — no charge at all, as long as you tell us at least 1 hour before the session starts — because we know autism-family schedules are not always predictable.
